Directions to Beech Cottage
Beech Cottage is situated at Wester Lix, approximately 2 miles to the west of Killin. It is set in the Glen of Dochart within the Trossachs area, which now forms part of Scotland's first National Park.
Directions By Road
Travelling from Glasgow take the M90 to Stirling then take the A84 for Crainlarich, passing through Callendar. Keep on the A84 past Strathyre and at Lochearnhead take the A85. After approximately 5 miles, you'll come to a sign for Killin and just before the Killin turn-off, take a left at Wester Lix and follow the track for half a mile. Keep on the track, past the first 7 cottages and you'll come to 4 other cottages, Beech Cottage is here.
Travelling from Edinburgh take the M9 to Stirling then take the A84 for Crainlarich passing through Callendar. Follow directions as above.
Travelling from Inverness take the A9 to Perth and follow the signs for Crainlarich and Crieff on the A85, then follow the sign posts to Killin. At the Lix toll, keep straight on the road for another 500 hundred yards, then take a right at Wester Lix.
By Train
The nearest station is Crainlarich 11 miles away. The train leaves Glasgow, Queen Street taking approximately two hours on the Fort William line.
A local landmark on the A85 some 500 yards away from the access track to Wester Lix is the Lix Toll Garage
